No gorilla on the loose despite warning sign

There is no large primate wandering the foothills Placer County despite a construction sign warning drivers to be cautious of a “loose gorilla.”

Drivers in Loomis, California saw the surprising message on a construction sign last week.

A prankster hacked into the electronic traffic sign on Wells Avenue and changed the sign to read “Caution: Loose Gorilla.”

The sign is now back to its original message and says “Wells Avenue Closed.”

Given the workers rarely change these from their default password of "d?t?" it's hardly a huge surprise this happens. No, the ? isn't part of the password, but it doesn't take much to guess. I'm just pleased it's mildly inventive and not simple profanity.
