Peter Pan and Superman fined after scuffle over bid to grope male nun

Friends Christopher Pantony and Jamie Reynolds ended up in court after a fancy dress argument. Pantony, dressed as Peter Pan, made a lewd comment to another man clad as a nun during a Halloween party, Plymouth Crown Court heard. Reynolds, as Superman, then joined his mate in allegedly attacking a fourth man who came to the aid of the nun. Pantony, aged 21,  and 20-year-old Reynolds both admitted threatening behaviour.

They had previously denied alternative charges of affray – pleas which were accepted by the prosecution.Judge Graham Cottle said: "This incident was completely down to the fact that you had too much to drink. In your case it did not result in anything particularly serious. No doubt you will learn from the experience. If there were to be a repeat of this behaviour, you will be leaving through the door behind you (to the cells)."



Julia Cox, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said Pantony and Reynolds attended a Halloween party on October 30 last year. She added another friend was dressed as Batman. She said Pantony and Reynolds and Batman met the nun and another man, dressed in normal clothes. Miss Cox said Pantony/Peter Pan made a lewd suggestion to the nun. She added he attempted to touch the nun's genitals.

Miss Cox said the nun's friend in ordinary clothes moved in to separate the men. She alleged Pantony and Reynolds then punched and kicked the man who intervened in the legs. Judge Cottle, who read probation reports on the men, said: "They have both had a lesson they probably needed to learn about taking more care when they are drinking." He fined them both £250.
