Spanish politician criticised for posing with deer's testicles on his head

A tourism minister in Spain is under fire after a photo of him happily posing with bloody deer testicles on his head were published in a newspaper.

Carlos Delgado, minister of tourism and sports for the Balearic Islands, is pictured holding up peace signs with the body parts on his head during a hunting trip last year while he was mayor of Calvia.

The photo was  published on the front page of the Ultima Hora newspaper. Opposition politician Francina Armengol said the photos are "absolutely appalling." International animal rights groups called him an embarrassment to Spain.

"This kind of action should disappear for the good of society and for the mental health of all. This is harming Spain's image and dragging the country back to the 11th century," said Chesus Yuste of the Parliamentary Association in Defence of Animals.
