Etiquette debate over mankini-wearing golfer

This scantily-clad gentleman caused a few heads to turn when he played a round at the RAAF Darwin Golf Club, in Australia's Northern Territory on Boxing Day, wearing a vibrant-green mankini, while swigging a stubbie.

Some weren't impressed with the golfing chap's antics. Raechel Watts said: "He should be charged ... indecent exposure." Debbie Neat said the man's dress code was "totally disrespectful of the game". Jennifer Fitzgibbins said: "How disgusting!

"He should not have been allowed to play without proper attire! Whoever said golf was a gentleman's game has not been to this place." But others, including Julie Pannell, commended the brazen act. "Haha good on him, so damn hot in the NT," she said.

Rachael Beier Gotta said: "Gotta love a man in a mankini, those tan lines are a bugger though. The world has gone so over the top with political correctness - we need more of this." Sue Ferrari said the only thing missing was a crocodile and Sarah Hubel complimented the man on his "really good beard".

If the club rules say you must have proper attire, that's one thing. However golf is still nothing but a game, as long as he's not waving his todger around I don't really care what he wears. If my surgeon turned up like that however, I'd be a bit more concerned.
