Man fatally shot roommate over argument about pork chop

Holly Hill police said a man shot and killed his roommate after the two argued over a pork chop.

Thomas Hahn, 55, is charged with second-degree murder. Officials said Hahn was sitting in a chair at the home on May Avenue just before 10:30 pm on Tuesday when police arrived.

He told officers that he shot Robert Eugene Gray Jr., 35, in self-defence, but police said the evidence suggests otherwise.

Witnesses told police the two were arguing over how a pork chop was cooked. The 35-year-old victim was shot twice in the head with a rifle as he walked into the house. Police said alcohol was a factor in the shooting death.

I have no idea why this man is being charged with second degree murder. It should be first degree murder. Before his roommate got home, he told his other roommate that he was going to kill that man if he came home drunk again. He already had his rifle out. There was a history of violence between them. He was looking for an excuse to kill the roommate.
