A total of 107 people were arrested in South Africa on Tuesday for allegedly killing a woman by poisoning her in Madadana, near Bizana, Eastern Cape police said.
On Monday a group of local residents went to the house of the 49-year-old
woman they accused of hiding a man who allegedly raped and killed an 18-year-old
girl on December 31.
They allegedly forced her to drink poison. She later died after complaining
about stomach cramps. A murder case was opened.
The alleged rapist was arrested last week and had since appeared in court.
He was still in police custody. The group of 38 men and 69 women, will appear in the Bizana Magistrate's Court
on a murder charge.
