A Tennessee man was arrested on Friday evening after allegedly trying to shoplift nearly $1,200 in merchandise from a Walmart.
Jason Archer, 36, who was initially detained by store security, sought to flee when police officers approached.
Archer struggled with and attempted to strike officers. However, based on his mug shot, the officers appeared more adept at landing their blows, leaving him with wounds bearing a striking resemblance to the store's smiley face logo.
Archer spent four days in jail before being bailed out on Wednesday. He is scheduled for a February 4 appearance in General Sessions court.
