Koala survives being hit after running into path of motorcyclists

A group of motorcyclists travelling through Gippsland in Victoria, Australia, on Saturday had to take evasive action when a koala ran across the road in front of them. One rider, unable to avoid the koala as it ran straight towards him, managed to slow, before having a low-speed collision with the little marsupial.

After the impact the koala picked itself up and wandered back across the road, seemingly unharmed. A following motorcyclist ran into the back of a car that had stopped as a result of the incident.
