Caffrey the Persian cat has defied vets' expectations by learning to walk and run on two legs - both on the right side of his body.

He lost his left hind leg after being run over by a car when he was three-years-old.

For over ten years Caffrey got by with only three limbs, but his situation took a turn for the worse four months ago when he developed a malignant growth on his front left paw.

The ailment forced a vet to amputate the limb despite the objections of colleagues who feared he would be unable to walk and would have no quality of life. But Caffrey has defied the experts, learning to balance and walk on two legs within days.
