A man built up a collection of 405 images of women having sex with animals - including horses, dogs, a snake a tiger and an elephant.
The elephant and tiger were both on top of different women.
Stephen Thresh, 47, was not interested in straight sex but told police he did not have a problem.
Thresh of Lee Street, Hull, admitted five charges at Hull Crown Court of possession of extreme pornographic images and a sixth charge of possession of 405 indecent images which were found on his laptop computer.
Thresh was caught after he downloaded a fake message: "Law enforcement authorities are have been informed," after searching for animal porn sites.
Thresh believed it was true and handed his laptop into a police station ensuring his own conviction.
Humberside Police officer Dc Adrian Adamson who had to study the pictures seized by the police to classify them said it was a unusual case in many ways.
"Mr Thresh thought the police were on to him but appears to have been the victim of malware on the internet to scam him for money," said Dc Adamson.
"In the main, the pictures were of horses and dogs having sex with women.
The images of an elephant, snake and tiger were highly dangerous in their execution.
"He has clearly more than an initial interest in the unusual. His browsing history shows that pattern of his interest. We did not look for other indecent images. We could not work out if the tiger was alive or stuffed but the elephant appeared to be alive." His sentence was adjourned as Thresh faces a separate charge of assault. Judge Mark Bury said he would sentence at the conclusion of that trial. Thresh was released on bail.
