Wedding ceremony interrupted by naked man waving his posterior from side to side

A wedding ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina, this weekend was interrupted by a 20-year-old student pressing himself naked against a hotel window overlooking the festivities. Several witnesses at a hotel in the City Market area said a man came to a window of a room overlooking the courtyard where the wedding was being held and started waving at guests.

The man reappeared at the window totally naked. He pressed his genitals against the window, then turned around and pressed his buttocks against the window, waving his posterior from side to side. Witnesses said they noticed a large tattoo saying Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus across his back.

The Latin phrase is commonly translated “By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.” The phrase has become a popular motto of opposition to government oppression. An officer knocked on the door of the room and a man answered with a towel wrapped around this waist. The officer noticed a large tattoo across his back.

The man got dressed and went outside. Witnesses identified him as the one who was at the window. They also said they recognized the tattoo on his back. Samuel James Dengel, 20, of Chalfont, Pa., was charged with indecent exposure and booked into the Charleston County jail. He was released on $10,000 bail.
