A month ago a homeless Polish man was admitted to hospital after his private parts were cut off using a sharp object in an incident that police eventually concluded had been self-mutilation.
But after a second incident in which a man's testicles were sliced off in one of the capital city's public toilets they are now investigating whether the incidents might be linked.
Police are waiting to question the second victim about the circumstances of his injury, saying that at the moment the 51-year-old is too badly injured to be interviewed.
