A Forest Town couple enjoyed a comfortable lifestyle paid for with money made
from drug dealing. The aptly named Speeds were sentenced at Nottingham Crown
Court last Friday. Daniel, aged 36, pleaded guilty to possession with intent
to supply amphetamines, otherwise known as ‘Speed’.
He was sent to jail for two-and-a-half years.
His wife Abigail, aged 27, was also dealt with under the Proceeds of Crime
Act and as a result she received a community order requiring her to
undertake 180 hours of unpaid work. The pair were arrested following a police raid at their then home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, on 13 October 2011.
Officers seized around a kilogram of amphetamines from bags, and tubs found
in the kitchen and a Mercedes car parked on the driveway. This was estimated to
equate to 1,000 individual deals with a combined street value of £3,550. Scales featuring traces of the same drug, as well as £1,991 cash, was also
seized. Further enquiries into the couple’s lifestyle found unaccounted cash deposits
over a five-year period into Abigail’s bank account.
They totalled £78,284,
despite Daniel being unemployed since 2008 and Abigail receiving benefits to
supplement her earnings as a chip shop assistant. As a result, property worth £16,509 was seized from the address, including
televisions, a stereo and speakers, a laptop, mobile phones, iPods, satellite
navigation units, a camera, clothing and other electrical items. The couple’s Mitsubishi, Mercedes and Renault Clio cars were also seized.

Nominative determinism strikes again!
That looks more like sugar in the photo.
This wouldn't be so bad if the 'facts' had any truth to them, in-fact there is so little truth to it, it could be a very good 'fictional' story
