Thousands of Australians bid for cheese and onion chocolate bars imported from Ireland

Thousands of Irish Australians are desperately trying to get their hands on 24 special chocolate bars which have landed Down Under.

The limited edition bars are sold out in Ireland but 24 were shipped to Australia to give Irish expats and Aussies the chance to taste them. The bars are made from Irish Tayto cheese and onion crisps mixed with Irish chocolate - all in one bar.

Taste Ireland CEO Eamon Eastwood is raffling off the remaining bars on the company’s Facebook page, which has had almost half a million views since the announcement.

"It's an unusual taste - crunchy chocolate and then a lingering taste of cheese of onion," said Mr Eastwood. But all is not lost for those who miss out - a helpful video has been made demonstrating how you can create your own.
