Woman makes plea after her beloved lions are replaced with gnome

A Wisconsin woman is pleading to whoever took her two outdoor lion statues and replaced them with a gnome to return the stone felines. Liza Michna, 37, of Racine said she was at the hospital with her daughter, who was in a diabetic coma, about two weeks ago and returned home to find one of the lion statues that used to guard her front door was missing.

Two days later, the second lion was gone and replaced with a small gnome. Last year on Mother’s Day, her husband specially ordered the lions for her from Amazon as a present from him and her five children.

Michna, who loves lions and whose astrological sign is a Leo, had been looking for lion statues for a while. But she could never find one that was just right until her family found the two statues online. The ones her family bought were speckled plaster and each measured about 30 inches tall.

“I love those things,” she said. At this point, she has nearly given up on ever seeing the lions again, but she is hoping one last plea will bring the lions home. She doesn’t plan to press any charges as long as the lions are returned safely.
