Bizarre break-in baffles police

Broward Sheriff's Office in Florida are searching for three masked burglars who took a sledge hammer to a concrete wall of a Pompano Beach warehouse in an exhausting attempt to steal a pair of work boots - only to leave them at the scene.

During the baffling burglary, three unidentified thieves used a sledge hammer to create an opening large enough to walk through in the Coastal Boots warehouse wall in Pompano Beach.

The criminals took their time partially demolishing the wall, once inside they disabled the alarm and grabbed only a shoe box with a pair of work boots valued at $200. Surveillance video shows the criminals (two females and one male) running around the structure, shoe box and sledge hammer in hand.

A search of the area yielded the sledge hammer and the shoe box with the new boots still inside. An unidentified accomplice in a white 4-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler 300, is captured on video dropping off the three thieves, minutes before the burglary. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact police.
