David Masse of Hamburg in Erie County, New York, was sentenced to one-and-a-half to three years in prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty to third degree criminal mischief.
Prosecutors say Masse caused substantial damage to the neighbour's home in April because he believed his neighbour was a robot.
Masse is a sex offender who was previously convicted of sexually abusing a person incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless.
