Police hunt mystery man who threw two Henry Hoovers onto railway track

A mystery man walked into an underground metro station with two vacuum cleaners - and then threw them on the track. Police are hunting the individual behind the "unusual" crime, which caused an obstruction.

The suspect struck at Newcastle's Central Metro Station after walking in carrying the two appliances, thought to be Henry Hoovers. After inexplicably throwing them onto the track, he walked off.

Staff at the control room alerted the driver of the closest Metro train, who was able to stop and remove the vacuum cleaners from the line after climbing from his cab. The strange offence happened at 4.50pm on Thursday, August 8.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Police have released an image of a man seen in the area at the time who they are keen to speak to as he may have important information about the incident." Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Nature abhors a vacuum. And so, apparently, does this guy.
