Woman hid in boot of car for day-and-a-half to avoid police while sobering up after minor crash

A woman hid in the boot of her car for a day-and-a-half after a minor crash to avoid the police while sobering up.

When officers found the car crashed into a wall in Bad Kreuznach, Rhineland Palatinate, Germany on Saturday, they assumed the driver had just left it there, and towed it to a garage.



But the 30-year-old driver was huddled in the boot - and stayed there to straighten up. There was food and drink inside the car, which the woman could reach from where she was hiding.

She later told police she had been under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the accident. She has now lost her driving licence.
