Mystery of Epping Forest panther solved

A panther-like creature was spotted relaxing in a tree near Fairmead Road in Epping Forest, Essex by two City of London forest rangers on Wednesday.

There have been numerous sightings of the so-called Beast of Ongar, but no reports of a large wild cat in that part of the forest.

After approaching with extreme caution, the rangers made another shock discovery.

Upon closer inspection the pair realised it was simply a stuffed toy which had been left there by fly-tippers and placed on the branch of a tree.
