Boy without arms has learnt to play the trumpet

Jahmir Wallace, 10, who was born without arms joined the band at Green Street Elementary School in Phillipsburg, New Jersey as a trumpet player this year.



Jahmir says his sister plays the piano, so he thought he should try an instrument.

He picked the trumpet and says it just felt right. A local music store helped make a special stand to hold the horn.

He encourages others to give music a chance. "Anybody out there that would like to try an instrument, go ahead and try it. You never know. If you like it, you like it. If you don't, you don't. Keep on trying," he said.
