Wedding called off over wrong meat in biryani

A heated argument over biriyani sent to the groom’s side by the bride’s family led to a wedding being called off in Bangalore, India on Monday.

Relatives of the groom and the bride became involved in a heated verbal altercation over the issue and in the end the marriage didn't go ahead. From the groom’s side, it was made abundantly clear much in advance that mutton biryani was to be prepared for the function.

The family of the bride, which reportedly had agreed to the demand, violated the agreement and instead prepared chicken biryani. The marriage of Yasmeen Taaz and Saifulla was to be solemnized at K G Halli, and it was the responsibility of the bride’s family to prepare the food.

Feeling deceived and insulted, the groom’s side started a ruckus over the issue. They decided to cancel the marriage. The parents and relatives of the bride did their best to pacify the angry relatives of the groom, but failed to convince them to let the ceremony progress as planned.
