The driver, a 45-year-old man from Claremont Meadows, returned a positive roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis of 0.134. He was charged with a mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA) offence.

At 12.45am – while the driver was at Toronto Police Station – one of the passengers, a man aged 33, got into the driver’s seat and started the ute’s engine. He was stopped by police officers who subjected the man to a roadside breath test. This allegedly proved positive, and the man, from Oakhurst, was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.140. He, too, was charged with a mid-range PCA offence, as well as driving while disqualified.
Ten minutes later, at 12.55am, a 50-year-old man – who had also been a passenger – allegedly drove the same ute a short distance but was stopped by police. The man, from Claymore, was also subjected to a roadside breath test which allegedly proved positive. He was also taken to Toronto Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.164. He was charged with a high-range PCA offence. All three men are due to appear in Toronto Local Court on Wednesday 16 April 2014.
