Underwear-clad lady who'd been awake for nine days shaved her pubic area in neighbour's home

In a call made to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Texas in the early morning hours of April 30, a woman was alleged to have entered a neighbour’s home before attacking the neighbour when they came home to find the woman still in their residence.

Two police units from Splendora Police Department, along with two units from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the initial call, which was made at around 9:43am by a third-party in a neighbouring residence. The units were dispatched to the scene according to MCSO Lt. Brady Fitzgerald.

The suspect, later identified as Connestee Lynn Volino, 39, was thought to have been impaired at the time of the burglary. According to Fitzgerald, it was reported to police officers on the scene that Volino had been awake for approximately nine days at the time of the incident.

She allegedly entered the home dressed only in a bra and panties and entered the bathroom, where she proceeded to shave her pubic area, said Fitzgerald. It was reported that when the female homeowner returned to the home, Volino attacked her and is believed to have grabbed her by the throat, as the homeowner reportedly had some visible injuries to the throat. Volino is then believed to have fled the scene in a vehicle. Pending her arrest, Volino could face charges including Burglary of a Habitation.

Nine days awake? She'd be hallucinating. Sounds, alas, like malignant insomnia. Hope not.

When I wrote my master's, from start to finish, it took 4 days without sleep and towards the end of that I was certainly hallucinating; nothing very interesting, but I knew I was beginning to lose the plot a bit. After 9 days I wouldn't even know I had a plot to lose.

I was going to make a comment about how writing a dissertation on (title) probably required an altered state of mind in the first place, until I discovered if you googled for the title, my given name was the first hit. So ahem.. no.

Malignant insomnia?
Methamphetamine, more likely.
