Controversy over tour guide hand and mouth feeding alligators chicken and marshmallows

A Lousiana swamp boat tour guide may be in trouble after feeding a pair of wild alligators.

A tourist on the tour captured the moment when the guide leapt into the water and proceeded to feed two gators with chicken before offering them marshmallows from his lips last month.

Stacy Hicks said that the guide had told them to get their cameras ready and that she was concerned about his safety after hearing he'd been bitten a few days beforehand.

YouTube link.

A spokesman for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, says wildlife agents and other officials are reviewing the video to determine if there was any wrongdoing.

There's a news video here.

I have two words for this Darwin Award nominee.

Timothy Treadwell.

This will only end in tears and dramatised tourists.

Cheers for the link Steve!

I couldn't see it ending well either.

The guide, Lance Lacrosse, has been told to desist from doing it now ...

I'm all for treating wild animals as wild animals and with a bit of common sense and respect.

If you fancy a documentary about treadwell and the bears you can find it here. Don't watch right before bed though, I did. Big mistake.
