Police are investigating after two people were found dead on the southeast side of Indianapolis last Friday afternoon.
A male and female were found in a garage apartment at around 1:30pm, officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
Police said the male and female, identified as Gabrielle Beard and Adrian Leveille, were believed to be in their 20s. Authorities said the female had no visible signs of trauma, but the male did.
Police did not suspect foul play, but the cause of death would not be known until an autopsy was performed.
Indianapolis Animal Care and Control picked up a small fox from the home.
Investigators believed the pair had been dead for more than 24 hours and the fox had started to gnaw on the remains of at least one of the victims.
The young couple had captured the fox in the wild and were trying to tame it and house-break it, neighbours said.
The fox was taken to a Department of Natural Resources rehab facility and DNR officials will determine the fate of the fox.
