Police say 'gunshot wound' man 'was not shot'

The death of a man police said had died from a gunshot wound is no longer being treated as murder.

Police found the 38-year-old man's body on Otter Drive in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, on Friday morning.

Detectives said he had died in a suspected shooting, but a post-mortem examination found he had not been shot. The death remains inconclusive, but there was no evidence of any third party involvement and the death was no longer suspicious, police said.

They are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests and would like to speak to any witnesses. Officers particularly want to hear from anyone who saw a white man in the area who appeared to be drunk between 06:45am and 07:20am.

Britain's finest!

One would think a gunshot wound would be fairly obvious, even to the most dimwitted plod.

Just one more of many reasons why they have lost the respect of the general public completely.
