Claudia Kucharek from Wichita, Kansas, thought someone was playing a prank when more than 100 Milkbone dog biscuits disappeared overnight on Saturday.
Kucharek said, "I went outside, inside looking for trails tracks or anything that would lead me to the Milkbones."
On Sunday her husband heard a suspicious noise under the hood of her car while in the garage.
He found all the bones packed under the hood and a large rat.
The couple were able to trap the rat the next morning.

And the rat just sat there while they measured it? It doesn't _look_ dead in the photo.
(Did they make it a pet?)
Or maybe the doggy biscuits made it extremely lethargic. They certainly made it one fat rat.

I'm not altogether sure what became of the rat.
It just says the rat was trapped.
You're right about it being well fed!
I'm in TX and we have those same, large rats. They aren't Norway Roof rats like the cities have, just a large country rat. I have outdoor dogs and have made it a habit to put their food up at night. They will steal it all. I'll find the occasional stash of mesquite beans and whatever else they'll hide for winter. They are industrious.
The rats that live in the trees in my back garden come when I call them, it's just cupboard love as I only call them when I have food for them.
I started feeding them so as to take away their need to raid my rabbits food, seems to work.
I have been amazed at the level of intelligence shown by them, far higher than my rabbits and chooks.
I also feed the possums, for the same reason, they also come to the sound of my voice.
The possums are able to be stroked while feeding, the rats are too wary for that.
I don't like to kill any creature, but I deal the deathly blow to mosquitos, I am sure your gods put them here (!) for a reason but I am damned if I can figure it out.
I murder flies too.
I digress, all these people had to do was make a little nest for the rat, leave some food and water out and they might have been admitted to the heaven of their choice.
Not now they have killed one of their god's creatures.
Now they will burn.
Or so I am told.
Williamrocket, you have a wonderfull sool... I don't
