A man was rescued by firefighters after he was trying to coax his cat from a tree.
The feline had climbed up the pine tree, in its back garden in the Lowton area of Wigan, Greater Manchester, at 12.30pm on Sunday, but was stuck.
His owner then clambered up the branches to rescue his pet, but then found himself in need of rescue.
He called the fire service and crews from Leigh used a ladder and ropes to bring the man down.
Unfortunately the cat refused to budge and remained in the tree as firefighters tried to coax it to safety.
Both the cat and man were unharmed during the 30-minute incident.
