A man from Wirral in Merseyside who told his wife he had given up cigarettes has been caught smoking by Google Street View.
Donny Riding from Leasowe had been warned by doctors to give up his smoking habit after suffering from a heart attack.
However, he didn’t heed his doctor’s advice and instead began to smoke in secret, unbeknown to his wife Julie.
That is, until he was caught having a crafty cigarette by one of Google Street View’s cameras.
Julie said: “He’d been told to give up smoking after he had a heart attack.
“I confronted him and he denied it and he wouldn’t admit to it.
He stormed out of the house and then later that day we’d heard that the Street View camera was driving around.
When I checked it online I couldn’t believe it - there was no denying it now.”

Street view isn't updated. It could be months or years back.
I have caught the Google street-view car trundling down my street at least twice over the past ten years, so yes, they do update the street view. But not at all frequently, and Brixter is right--that view could be from years back.

PS: Of course, if the couple just recently got the car that's shown in the view, that would timestamp the pic.

I quit 3 months ago after 49+ yrs and won't try the first one again
