A woman believes she has found mouse droppings or little spiders baked into her pizza.
Deborah Power, of Denton, Greater Manchester, was looking forward to tucking into the pepperoni deep crust pizza after a hard days work last Tuesday.
But when she took it out of the oven and sliced it she was left retching in disgust when she found black dots running through the pizza base.
The pizza cost £1.39 and was purchased from the frozen section at Home Bargains in Ashton, with a sell by date of 2016.
Miss Power immediately contacted Chicago Town and sent them an email, believing the black dots to be mice droppings or even baby spiders.
She said she has not yet had a response.
The 53-year old said: “There was this black stuff in the middle running through it.
I didn’t know what it was, I never felt so sick in my life.
I think I would have been ill if I ate it, it could have been anything - mice droppings, or I thought it could be little spiders, it is right through the middle of it.
I’ve emailed them but no response, I would like my money back and an investigation into it.”
A spokesman for Chicago Town said: “I’ve been told by the factory that the issue is caused by a carbon build up on the pans used in the bakery.
It does happen very rarely but it is completely safe. We have responded to the customer and are happy to send the pizza for independent tests should the customer need further reassurance.”

I'm bemused by these pictures of surly ladies in odd poses (grumping about trousers or pizzas or fill-in-the-blank. Do newspaper photographers have to go to classes to learn how to take photos like this?
