
“It was a bit of a mysterious call really,” he said. “This chap called us to say he spotted a lower leg limb floating in the water and so we went down there to have a look and fairly quickly, we were able to fetch it out.
“I was pretty sure and confident that it wasn’t an actual leg but with the help of a lovely chap at Elbow Cottage, I was able to fish it out with a long rod.” PCSO MacLachlan added that he had no idea whether the leg came from a mannequin.

He doesn’t believe anyone would have thrown it in the canal on purpose. “It is little jobs like that which make the job wonderful. I am glad it was just made from rubber and not an actual foot,” he added.
