Police say they knew Wojnisz was selling heroin in the area based on a prior investigation and had a warrant for his arrest. When the officers approached him, Wojnisz allegedly ran away while still holding his baby. He then ran into a home and gave the child to her mother, police said.
The officers continued chasing after Wojnisz and eventually captured him without further incident, according to investigators. Wojnisz, who police say, had urinated on himself, allegedly had 92 bags of heroin (1.38g) labeled “Lacoste” and 12 doses of Suboxone in his possession.

Investigators checked Wojnisz’s daughter and determined she had not been harmed. They also notified the division of family services. Wojnisz is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly/likely to cause injury, resisting arrest and other related offences. He was committed to the Howard Young Institution after failing to post $5,000 secured bail.
