Police are warning people to steer clear of a wallaby on the loose in Gloucestershire.
The marsupial was photographed outside a house in the Dursley area on Saturday night, but it managed to hop away over a wall.
Officers had earlier confused the creature with a kangaroo.
Police have no idea where it came from and want to hear from its owner.
The marsupial was last seen heading towards a wooded area near Woodmancote, where officers think it has "gone to ground".
A police spokesman said: "The animal may be distressed and they are strong and powerful animals so members of the public are advised not to approach it."
Anyone who sees the animal is asked to call the police.
