Mother surprised to discover 800 rounds of ammunition in son's Toys 'R' Us package

A mother is stunned after she says she found ammunition in her son's Toys "R" Us package. Jasemin Stephenson says she ordered a "Minecraft Foam Diamond Sword" from the toy store's website last week.

When the package arrived on Tuesday in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Stephenson says she found 800 rounds of 9mm ammunition in the box along with the sword.

"It is very shocking. You are ordering from a Toys "R" Us store, you don't expect to get ammo in a box of toys," Stephenson said. She feels that her child's safety was at risk.

"Very irresponsible, definitely on their part," she added. "We are in the process of looking into this matter with our shipping carrier to determine how this may have occurred," Kathleen Waugh, a Toys "R" Us spokeswoman said.

The very idea of receiving a toy from Toys R Us with all that ammo in it is pretty scary. That much ammo is expensive. Who would put it in a box with a toy and ship it to a child? I'd love to know the back story on this.

I call bullshit. I think mom and dad put them there in hopes of a settlement. Toys r us can have the ammo lot # traced back to the purchaser.

Does toys r us even sell ammo? If so, why?

...I think what happened was that the bullets were a separate box that fell through the top of the toy box while in the shipping company's truck. (bullets are heavy) The bullets didn't come from Toys r us.
