Naked cowboy told police he had lost a bet

A man has been arrested after strolling through an Australian city wearing nothing but a cowboy hat and flip flops after losing a bet.

The 25-year-old man from New South Wales was allegedly taking a stroll in the buff through Cairns in North Queensland at around 9.30pm on Sunday.



Police said they received a complaint from a member of the public before arresting him. He allegedly told officers the incident was a result of a bet lost with his friends.

He didn’t specify what the bet was over. The man was charged with one count of wilful exposure and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 28.
