More than 400 people howled at the moon for more than a minute on Saturday, breaking the Guinness World Record for howling.
The 464 howlers at Mead Open Farm in Billington, near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, broke the previous record of 296 for the most people howling for a minute. The earlier record was set by students at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota in the United States in 2013.
Matt Heast from Mead Open Farm said: “It was fantastic to listen to nearly 500 people howling in unison.
Some of the participants really got into the spirit of the event and came dressed as werewolves. It was an amazing night.”
In preparation for the world record attempt participants were given a lesson in wolf howling by Fausta DiMascio a volunteer from the UK Wolf Conservation Trust.

The Trust runs howl nights which usually have up to 50 people on site who are shown the technique of how to howl to the wolves and get a response back from them.
Visitors were counted into the performance area by two Guinness World Records approved witnesses, referees from the Football Association. The crowd were required to howl for one minute towards a common point.
