Houston police found a Cuban male lying dead at around 11:30pm outside near the entrance to the Monte Carlo Apartment Homes. Several witnesses saw the fight, which started between roommates over the last chicken drumstick.
They went outside to fight over the chicken, and that's when one stabbed the other with a steak knife. Four or five Cuban men live in the apartment, police said.
"There was a single drumstick in the pan," according to HPD Homicide Detective Fil Waters. "You can't script this stuff. It's someone getting killed over a piece of chicken. Pretty tragic." The suspect fled the scene, but returned and was arrested at around 4am, Waters said.
