Highways contractor Amey said the road had recently been resurfaced by a subcontractor and apologised for the delay in "reinstating" the markings. Staff working for council contractor Amey completed resurfacing works on October 29, taking out half of the crossing.
But the workers then failed to reinstate the whole crossing. Amey has apologised for the delay and said a workforce should have been sent out the next day to complete the work. The missing half has now been repainted, it said.

A spokeswoman for Amey, Birmingham City Council’ s Highways partner, said: “We are sorry that the crossing in this location was not properly reinstated immediately. We are investigating the cause of the delay internally and with the subcontractor that carried out the works and a crew have been on site today (Friday) and completed the repainting of the crossing.”
