Police hunt woman who took dog for late night joyride in golf buggy

A woman who took her dog for a late-night joyride around a golf course in a buggy is being hunted by police.

The woman, accompanied by another person thought to be a man, is believed to have gained access to the container at Willingdon Golf Club in Eastbourne, Sussex, at around 10.35pm on Sunday night.

It appears that one or more buggies were then driven around the golf course causing significant damage in some areas and up to a thousand pounds' worth of damage to one of the buggies. PC James Gillies said: "This is rather a strange case, not least because of taking the dog for a spin.

"But also because the buggies were driven back to the container about 90 minutes later - and then plugged back in to charge up! It appears that a key to the container may have been stolen unnoticed from the club prior to Sunday night, but the locks have now been changed and we would like to hear from anyone who recognises the woman and her dog or who has information about the incident."
