Transport Minister's demonstration of braking system on driverless car could have gone better

South Australia Transport Minister Stephen Mullighan's driverless car demonstration went embarrassingly awry on Friday.

While publicising new driverless car technologies in Adelaide, Mr Mullighan jumped into the passenger seat to showcase ‘autonomous emergency brakes’.

Travelling at 40km/h the brakes failed, and poor skippy the stuffed kangaroo became an innocent victim.

The minister has been promoting driverless cars this week as part of the Australian Driverless Vehicle Initiative.
