Unobservant cyclist caught on camera crashing into parked car

A cyclist has been caught on CCTV careering onto the bonnet and then into the windscreen of a parked car.

The painful-looking collision was caught by a home-security camera outside a residential property in Erdington, Birmingham, last month.

The clip shows the moment the man cycles into the street before slamming into the car and then walking off while rubbing his head, carrying his damaged bicycle.

An image then appears in the video, claiming to show the smashed windscreen of the car following the incident. A title image at the beginning of the original film suggests the incident happened at around 9pm on October 21. It ends with the appeal: "Despite the damage caused our thoughts go out to the cyclist."

Ouch, that front wheel looks like a pringle now.

Being a bicyclist, of course he wouldn't think twice about walking away from a few hundred pound's worth of damage. They think they are above the law. I hope he cracked his skull.

I don't want to defend his actions but it's possible he was so stunned that he didn't even think of contacting anyone or leaving a note. I hope once he's recovered that he'll make some effort to repair the damage done...
