Family can't go home for Christmas after naked man destroyed the property from above

A family in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, can’t go home for Christmas after the inside of their house was trashed by an intruder who also decided to take off all his clothes. While Tara Stanley and her family, who rent the property, were out of town last weekend, a man broke into their home and allegedly tore apart nearly every room in the house from above.

The intruder bashed away at the ceiling from one end to the other – while naked. “I’m so hurt that someone would do this so close to Christmas,” said Stanley, crying. “The day we heard all this I was supposed to pick up my son and put up the Christmas tree, and now we can't even do that."

Neighbours on the other side of the duplex heard the noise, and in the morning discovered a naked man wrapped in insulation in the roof. “We noticed between the firewall in the attic it was all broken in,” said neighbour Jody Crawford. “[There was]…a naked body under the insulation in my roof." Crawford gathered up her children and left the home.

The intruder was found alive and taken to the hospital. Police reportedly said the man was released from the hospital on a promise to appear in court at a later date. Repairs to the home are expected to top $25,000. "He's out there. Somewhere. I don't know where,” Stanley said. “And I just really hope that he doesn't do this to somebody else."
