Dog poo clean up signs from another district have appeared in Staffordshire.
One unnamed resident from the Wallbridge area of Leek is mystified as to why Hawksworth Close, just off Wallbridge Drive, has two 'Poop Scoop' signs with 'Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council' on them.
The regular signs seen attached around Leek and surrounding areas are white in colour and have 'Staffordshire Moorlands District Council on them with the words "Clean up after your dog – maximum penalty £1,000".
However, two lamp posts in Hawksworth Close have yellow signs with the words "Poop scoop area – Clean it up!" and Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council at the top of them. A Staffordshire Moorlands District Council spokesman said: "We do not know where those two signs have come from. It is not that we ran out of our own signs and used Newcastle ones.
We can only presume that a private individual has got hold of them and put them up."
