Mother frustrated that school keep misplacing her six-year-old son
A mother is frustrated at officials with Larimore Elementary School in St. Louis, Missouri, after she says the school lost her son four different times.
“He ended up on the bus, the furthest bus, from the school,” said Azoria Moralez. “They ended up finding him [and] my mother had to call the police.”
Moralez says the school has continually placed her six-year-old son on wrong buses since he was in kindergarten. He’s now in the first grade and she says they are still doing it. Moralez doesn’t understand how this keeps happening since they live extremely close to the school. “You can look out my other window and see the school. That’s how close we are,” Moralez said.

“I don’t know who to talk to with to get him transferred. No one is returning my calls." A spokesman for the school district said, “The District has and continues to investigate this situation. The student boarded the correct bus, but the driver drove the route incorrectly. We are working with the family to make sure this does not occur again.”
Moralez has pulled her son out of the school, but may face legal repercussions for that decision. “I got a letter talking about how they’re going to take me to family court if I don’t take him back to school,” Moralez said. “Take me to court because he’s not going back.” Azoria says she has begun tutoring her son so he doesn’t fall behind.

Man who wanted Budweiser shot friend when he was given a can of Busch
An argument between a 64-year-old man who wanted a Budweiser beer and his friend who handed him a can of Busch instead ended when the disgruntled recipient shot the other man in the arm, wounding him in a Louisiana parking lot, police said on Friday.
The incident, which occurred on March 7 in the New Orleans suburb of Harvey, resulted in Clarence Sturdivant shooting his neighbour Walter Merrick, 66, in the arm, with Merrick sustaining wounds that were not life-threatening, said Colonel John Fortunato, spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses told police that the incident, which began with Sturdivant and Merrick arguing over the respective merits of the beer brands, escalated when Merrick pointed a gun at Sturdivant, with the Budweiser adherent then firing a shotgun in self-defence,
Fortunato said. Sturdivant was not charged in the incident but was arrested on an unspecified unrelated charge, Fortunato said, while Merrick was cited for aggravated assault. Fortunato said police did not recover any weapons.

Children at well-to-do neighbourhood playground pelted with eggs by noise-hating resident
Children at a playground in the exclusive Potts Point suburb of Sydney, Australia, have been pelted with eggs by a resident of one of the city's most desirable addresses, and police are furious.
School children playing in the Fitzroy Gardens playground have repeatedly had volleys of raw eggs hurled at them from 25 metres above ground, as a rogue resident of the Gazebo building shelled them as they played.
The latest attack happened on Monday as Hugh McCullum and his seven-year-old daughter Madeleine were at the park, which was packed with babies, toddlers and primary school children.
Mr McCullum said he saw eggs coming from a balcony. “The kids were being a bit noisy,” he said. “Next thing I see this egg out of the corner of my eye come down and land at the top of the slide, so I looked up to see where it had come from.” A second egg followed, making a loud thud as it hit a chalk board. “I saw it being launched from a balcony of the Gazebo building and there was no one on it. Just after they did it, they closed all their blinds,” Mr McCullum said. “It freaked out the kids.”
Kings Cross police said the attack was “incredibly reckless” and that a toddler could have been seriously injured if hit by an egg thrown from such a height. Officers have spoken with a “person of interest” from one of the nearby blocks but no charges have been laid. Superintendent Michael Fitzgerald said he was “filthy” about the egging and police were confident they knew where the missiles had come from. They just needed CCTV evidence.
“We’re hoping that the people involved will stop this behaviour because it is incredibly reckless,” Supt Fitzgerald said. Police door-knocked and letter-dropped the three unit blocks, warning residents of serious consequences. “If a child was hit they would be up for a serious assault charge or grievous bodily harm,” Supt Fitzgerald said. Kings Cross Parents and Carers Group convener Claudia Bowman said there had been a history of residents who were anti the playground. A City of Sydney spokeswoman said it had received complaints from a Potts Point resident about noise from the playground.

Teenager who agreed to be set on fire at party hospitalised with burns to almost half his body
A young man who allegedly agreed to be set alight with flammable liquids at a party in Sydney, Australia, is in hospital with burns to almost half his body.
Footage shot by another party-goer just after midnight on Saturday shows Northern Beaches teenager Johno Holten wearing no pants and allowing himself to be sprayed with accelerants before another person sets his leg on fire.
Not satisfied with performing the dangerous stunt once, the 18-year-old asked his friend to use lighter fluid on him. The fire quickly spreads up his leg and onto his back and torso. The prank was apparently consensual but moments after the teenager's friends began desperately trying to put out the fire when it spread to his clothing.

Brendon Mackie was at the party and said it was 'just a harmless night at the start'. "He was passed out, and then woke up yelling 'light me on fire, light me on fire', stupidity basically," he said. Mr Holten sustained excessive burns to 45 percent of his body and was taken by ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
St Vincent's Hospital director of emergency services Professor Gordian Fulde said testosterone and peer pressure would contribute to the problem. "The excitement of it all, if you add alcohol to it you have a potential fatal combination," he said. Officers attended the party venue at Collaroy Plateau and arrested 18-year-old Kane Forrest for questioning. He was later released without charge.

Puppy rescued after getting stuck inside steel pipe
A puppy was rescued from a steel pipe in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on Wednesday after somehow managing to get its entire body stuck inside.

After being notified by the local residents, animal rights workers tried to free the animal using a variety of cutting tools.
Having tried and failed using these, the puppy's rescuers resorted to good old-fashioned soap and water.

After having its head lathered the little animal was eventually freed and returned safely to its owner.

Snake named Snake rescued after taking refuge in dashboard of car while on way to vets
A five foot long (1.5m) boa constrictor had to be rescued from behind a car dashboard after escaping on its way to the vets.
Miguel Reid, who owns the five-year-old, had packed the pet, named Snake, into his rucksack before driving to the surgery in Brislington, Bristol.
But on his way Mr Reid realised the reptile had slithered out and disappeared behind the steering wheel. He rang the surgery and staff there originally thought he was joking. Vet Vim Kumaratunga rushed out to meet Mr Reid, calling for backup from a fellow vet and a nurse on the way.

"After finding that the dashboard of the car needed to be taken apart, we enrolled the help of a local mechanic," Mr Kumaratunga said. "Thankfully, he wasn't scared of snakes. After three hours and a fair amount of sedation, we managed to free Snake unharmed.

"We do see snakes and unusual pets on a regular basis however that was definitely something I've never experienced before." He added 'Snake' is due to be reunited with Mr Reid later and will be returning home "preferably in something sturdier than the last rucksack".

Parents unhappy after young children allegedly found meat cleaver hidden inside hotel bed
A row has broken out after a pregnant mother said her children found a nine-inch meat cleaver in a hotel room where they had been temporarily rehomed following a large fire.
Donna Lever, 38, had to leave her rented house when it was badly damaged in the blaze triggered by a faulty tumble dryer.
But Ms Lever said she was disgusted when she saw the cleaver and several cans stuffed into a rip in the side of a bed in the hotel in Blackburn, Lancashire.
She said she told a member of staff about cleaver and reported the incident to Rossendale Council, which had placed them in the hotel, when they left.
Rossendale Council confirmed it had received the complaint following the family’s stay. EJ Hussain, manager of the Hill View Hotel in Blackburn, however said the room had been ‘inspected thoroughly’ before the family arrived and no concerns were reported to him during their stay. He later contacted the police to claim a bed had been damaged by the family. Miss Lever and her partner, David Johnson, 32, said they were out with their children when the fire ripped through their property. Because their home was so badly damaged they were told they must go into temporary accommodation.
Mr Johnson said when the children spotted the cleaver, which he believes was left there by a previous guest, he took a picture of it on his phone to prove it was in the room. Miss Lever, who is 18 weeks pregnant, said: “I couldn’t believe it. From the outside, the hotel looked presentable but the accommodation clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. There was a rip to the bed and a load of tin cans stuffed inside. It was bad but I never expected to find a meat cleaver. It’s a weapon. We were moving a single bed against a wall so the kids, who were topping and tailing, wouldn’t fall out in their sleep, and they spotted it. I was disgusted. We were meant to stay for two nights but we told them the next morning we were leaving.
“On the way out, I told a lady working there about the the cleaver. Now we’re back in the smoke-damaged house, despite the fact the fire service told us it wasn’t safe for me to be there while I’m pregnant.” The couple, who are full-time parents, and their young four children are now sleeping on the kitchen and living room floors of their damaged house. Mr Hussain refuted Miss Lever’s claim that the room was untidy and said the cleaver was not spotted during his staff’s prior checks. In turn, he accused the family of causing criminal damage to a bed and littering the room with cans - something they deny. Lancashire police said it received a report of criminal damage at the hotel and that officers had arranged a visit.
