Runaway Shetland pony pursued by police through housing estate

A runaway Shetland pony led police on a chase through Langley Green in Crawley, West Sussex, at the weekend.

Sussex Police officers were called just after 2pm on Sunday to reports of the animal on the loose. Four units were sent to catch it.

Members of the public reported seeing the pony and police attempted to corner it in the car park of a hotel.

However, the pony again escaped. Police successfully caught the pony 45 minutes after they were called. The owner is then understood to have arrived. It is unclear where the horse escaped from.
