The curious case of the temple-circling dog

The strange behaviour of a mongrel is attracting curious onlookers to the Mahalakshmi Hindu temple in the Puttenahalli suburb of Bangalore, India.

Local residents say that the dog arrives early in the morning and repeatedly walks around the temple, sometimes well into the evening.

This has been going on for over a week. The canine is not deterred by people in the crowd blocking its path; it simply walks around them.

The number of people drawn to the temple to witness this mysterious behaviour is increasing with each passing day, resulting in traffic hold-ups nearby.
