Man faces charges over couch-strapped car

A South Australia police patrol arrested a man in Adelaide over the weekend following an unusual traffic stop.

At about 1.30am on Saturday the patrol spotted the heavily laden Holden Berlina, with two couches strapped to it, travelling in Christie Downs.

Police stopped the car and spoke to the driver who was allegedly driving with an expired licence and his car unregistered and uninsured.

The 37-year-old man from Morphett Vale was arrested and charged with a number of traffic offences and his car impounded for 28 days. The man was granted bail and will appear in the Christie Beach magistrates Court on 30 November.
