A man from Paignton, Devon, is offering a cash reward after a thief pulled up outside his home and stole a speed hump.
Trevor Barfoot had the safety device installed over the summer following a series of accidents on the private road which runs past his Primley Lodge home and up to Primley House Care Home.
However, the bolt-on speed hump was stolen late in the evening on September 9.
Despite CCTV capturing an image of the alleged suspect, the police are yet to make an arrest.
Trevor has offered a £100 reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator.
"We only put the ramps down in July this year to slow down the traffic using the private road as persons and animals have been injured by motorists speeding into and out of the site," said Trevor.
"Only this afternoon, we witnessed a motorist exiting the gates far too fast and a group of children crossing the pavement screamed in shock and just jumped clear.
"Whoever stole this has clearly done so for personal gain and has not thought about the consequences of their actions.
In the scheme of things, this crime might not be important but if someone is injured as a result of this selfish and gratuitous act of one individual, the consequences to them and their families could be tragic."
A police spokesman confirmed they would like to speak to a white man, aged in his 30s or 40s, wearing a hooded coat and high-viz trousers, who was seen driving a sports utility vehicle at the time of the theft.

Great blog Post, Thanks For Sharing. I Really like it. Speed humps is made from an injection-molded high resistant rubber compound that produces a very heavy duty crash resistant speed humps for sale.
