Naked from the waist down man allegedly used doggy door in attempt to steal lady's underwear

Police in Wichita Falls, Texas, believe a half-naked man used a doggy door to break into a woman's house. Police got a call just before 3am last Sunday from a woman who said she was watching a man on her security camera wandering around in her living room. She said the man appeared to be naked from the waist down.

She said she hit the panic button on her security system and the man fled. According to an arrest affidavitpPolice who arrived found a doggy door removed from an exterior door. The woman showed investigators pictures of the man taken by her security camera and she later posted them to her social media page. This helped officers track down a suspect.

A couple of people thought they recognised the man through various tattoos, including a former Archer County jailer who knew him when he was in jail there. Another was a man who lived near the victim and said he had noticed a naked man walking nearby at about the same time the woman reported the break-in. Using the witnesses accounts, an investigator was able to identify the suspect as Steven Ray Adermann, 42.

When Adermann was arrested, he said he had watched the victim's house and saw two women leave. He thought the house was vacant so he entered it through the doggy door. He said he went in to steal some women's underwear, preferably dirty ones if he could find them. Adermann was charged with burglary of a habitation, His bail was set at $20,000 and he is currently being held in the Wichita County Jail.
